Mary Lagorio, D.O. earned her medical degree with honors from Southeastern University of the Health Sciences in Miami in 1992. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI in 1995. She spent several months in a Pulmonary fellowship at CPMC in San Francisco with a focus on ICU care. She then worked in the Bay Area for 6 years as a Hospitalist. In 2002, she relocated to Florida where she started her own hospitalist group which emphasized a personal approach to medical care. She became well known for her caring bedside manner, reducing the number of patients per physician in her group and giving attention to details. She was drawn to comfort care and end of life care after seeing the toll aggressive care was having on her patients. Now, ten years later, back in Northern California, she wants to make a difference in relieving suffering. She is for gentle, compassionate care.
